Our honorary PrairieDogge.
Although clearly not an Olde, Rem is still an important member of our PrairieDogges family. Rem's pregnant mother was one of 18 sick and starving dogs seized by authorities from a farm near Coggswell, ND. You can read more about it HERE.
Although we do breed and sell pups, we also believe in rescue. Rem is included here as food for thought. We encourage anyone who is looking to add a dog to their family to first please take a moment to ask themselves two questions:
* What role do I expect this dog to play in my life?
* Can a rescue/shelter dog fill that role?
If a rescue can fill the role, I'm sure your local shelter has several dogs that would be more than willing to help you out! We needed a hunting dog, and instinct and drive were much more important than paperwork -- so we adopted Rem. He does his job well, and to the best of our knowledge, not a single one of the birds he has flushed and/or retrieved over the years has ever asked to see his pedigree! However, if what you are looking for can't be found at a shelter, then be sure to ask lots of questions and find a breeder you trust, hopefully that can be us. More Pictures
